The Contec AP200 uses sequential, repeated inflation and deflation of multi-chamber airbags to apply circular pressure to the limbs and tissue. The limb is squeezed uniformly and in order, from distal to proximal. This promotes the flow of blood and lymph, improves microcirculation and accelerates the backflow of limb tissue fluid, which helps in the prevention of thrombosis and limb oedema.
