The Welch Allyn Braun ThermoScan PRO 6000 measures the infrared heat from the eardrum and surrounding tissue, a site that reflects core temperature and is less invasive than oral, axillary or rectal readings. PerfecTemp works out the direction and depth of the probe in the ear and adjusts the reading. ExacTemp checks the probe is steady during the measurement, which helps when the patient is hard to keep still. Soft, disposable probe covers keep each reading hygienic.
