Most medical students begin to purchase their equipment towards the end of their first year. We’ve made a single page portal that can assist you with choosing everything that you’d need. WiZmed’s order process is as follows:

  1. Choose your desired products and proceed to checkout.
  2. Confirm your basket and place your order.
  3. Make payment by EFT or credit/debit card. If you pay by EFT use your order number as reference.
  4. Orders will be dispatched via courier or you can collect from our Cape Town warehouse.
  5. Courier deliveries have a turnaround time of 3-6 working days depending on whether you’re in an urban or regional area. 

The Littmann Classic III comes at a higher price than the Littmann Lightweight II and with this comes better acoustics. The Littmann Classic III also comes with spare soft ear tips and a non-chill rim. The Littmann Classic III comes with a 5-year warranty and the Littmann Lightweight II comes with a 2-year warranty. The Littmann Lightweight II is 30g lighter than the Littmann Classic III. The Littmann Classic III has a two-sided chestpiece with a diaphragm on one side and a bell on the other. The larger diaphragm side is normally used for adult patients. The smaller-diameter bell is best for paediatric patients. The Littmann Lightweight II has a one-sided chestpiece.

The Littmann Cardiology IV is the most premium (non-digital) Littmann stethoscope and is best for those with a larger budget or working health professionals. The Littmann Core Digital, is niche electronic stethoscope that provides the best possible acoustic quality.

Yes, we do! We offer premium laser engraving for R250. When submitting your phrase for engraving, please double-check for any errors, as the engraving process is permanent and cannot be undone.

No – generally there are no delays. We are proudly SA’s first stethoscope supplier to offer in-house precision laser engraving – convenience at it’s finest! No need to hunt a jeweller or engraver who’d be willing to engrave your stethoscope – no setup costs, no risk in terms of inexperienced engravers. We’ve engraved countless stethoscopes, so you can be certain that we know what we’re doing 🙂

Note: load shedding can cause 1-2 day delays 

Some of our stock moves very fast. If a product is on backorder it means that we don’t have it in stock currently but more is on the way from our suppliers and we should receive it shortly. As soon as we do, we will send off your order. Items on backorder normally have a turnaround of 3 weeks.

Getting a quotation for your desired products is easy and straightforward at WiZmed. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Add Products to Your Cart: Browse our extensive range of medical equipment and supplies, and add all the items you wish to purchase to your shopping cart.

  2. Proceed to Checkout: Once you have all your desired items in your cart, proceed to checkout, add your address information and on the payments page, select “Quotation” as payment method. Complete the order and you will be able to download a “Proforma Invoice”. If your bursary requires our proof of account details, contact us.

  3. Review and Use Your Quotation: The generated PDF quotation will include all the necessary details such as product descriptions, quantities, and prices. You can use this quotation for your bursary approval process or for keeping a record of your intended purchases. Note that quotes don’t reserve stock and cancel after 14 days. 

  4. Conveniently Convert your Quote to Order: On your WiZmed “My Account” page (your account will auto create when you generate your quote – click forgot password if you haven’t yet set a password), you can head to “Orders” in the Accounts pane and then click “Pay” next to the respective order.
What forms of payment do you accept?

WiZmed accepts payments via EFT and Credit/Debit Cards.

We also accept payment in instalments through Payflex.

Merchants are charged fees when cash deposits are processed. In order to ensure you get the best price for the products you want, we don’t accept cash deposits, so the charge isn’t indirectly passed on to you.

Is delivery free?

Delivery to your door via courier will incur a charge of R99.

Unfortunately this is not generally possible as our warehouses operate automatically and courier waybills are auto-generated based on the order information. Unless you receive written confirmation that we will consolidate multiple orders, please kindly note that simply adding an order comment will not guarantee consolidation. 

WiZmed offers the following delivery options:

  1. Nationwide Courier Delivery – R99
  2. Priority Shipping* – R149

*Priority is best effort and is not a guarantee. Priority is not a faster shipping service but rather a fast-tracked processing – meaning if your order isn’t dispatched from us two business days after payment received we can compensate you for the Priority surcharge of R60. 

Bulk orders are subject to additional timeframes and processing.

Please urgently contact the courier using your tracking number, or alternatively reach out to us. Kindly be aware that if you supplied us an incorrect address and the products are returned to our warehouse, WiZmed will not be liable for any reshipping fees billed by the courier service. Therefore, please always check that your address is correct else there will be unnecessary otherwise-avoidable delays. 

For areas that may incur any surcharges, we will contact you to invoice you for the necessary fees, alternatively we can change the delivery address to something that suits you.

Regarding international customers, please contact us we ship all over Africa using an affordable courier that starts at only ZAR349. 

We cannot ship to hotels, lodges or any form of temporary guest accommodation. If the shipment arrives there after you leave, we will not refund the order and you will incur all rerouting and redelivery costs.

Our average turnaround time for courier deliveries is 3-6 working days. Regional/rural areas may take longer.

If an item is listed as on backorder, then it can take around 3 weeks – just pop us a message to get some clarity on it.

If the delay was something on our part, you are liable for a refund of the priority shipping less a R95 economy shipping fee.

Yes we do! We offer free collections from our Cape Town warehouse.

What is your refund policy?

Products purchased from WiZmed may be returned for the following reasons:

  • The product is defective upon receipt
  • A different product to what was ordered arrives (this must be reported within 3 days of receiving the order)

Any items returned for the aforementioned criteria should be returned within 7 working days of receipt and should also meet the following criteria:

  • The defective / wrong product must be returned as sold (i.e. in the original packaging) within 7 days of receiving the package.
  • After 7 days, defective items will be subject to warranty approval by the respective manufacturer. “Wrong” item claims will not be processed after 7 days of you receiving an order. 

Please note that stethoscopes are non-exchangeable and non-returnable. This policy is strictly enforced to prevent the potential transmission of infections through earpieces, aligning with the necessary local legislation, including the Consumer Protection Act. We trust you understand this measure is in place to ensure the safety and satisfaction of all our customers.

In the case of the wrong product being shipped, WiZmed will first try to obtain the desired product failing which a refund will be offered.

In the case of product defects, WiZmed will first try to repair any defects or find a suitable replacement before processing any refunds.

Should a product be returned and it be found upon investigation that the product does not fall under the warranty and/or there have been accidental/customer-incurred damages, the customer shall be liable for both shipping and repair costs.

WiZmed strictly does not accept returns of non-defective products, especially stethoscopes and diagnostic sets due to risk of infection spread.

WiZmed strictly does not accept returns of engraved stethoscopes, or any stethoscopes for that matter due to the risk of earpieces transmitting infections.

In the incredibly unlikely event that the engraving does not match what you have on the invoice, we will gladly collect and sort out the matter expediently. In the case where you have supplied us with an incorrect name – there is nothing that can be done, which is why we ask you to please carefully check that you type out the correct name for engraving. 

Please view our size guide on our scrubs and lab coats page to ensure that you choose the correct size. However, if you are unhappy with the size of the garments you have ordered, pop us a message or email. We will then check if we have a size/colour in stock that is to your liking for an exchange. 

Please note that for all exchanges, items should be unworn and in their original condition and packaging. Additionally, if the item is embroidered, an exchange will strictly not be possible.
