Help! I'm in medschool and I don't know what I need.

Most medical students begin to purchase their equipment towards the end of their first year. We’ve made a single page portal that can assist you with choosing everything that you’d need. What is the order process?

WiZmed’s order process is as follows:

  1. Choose your desired products and proceed to checkout.
  2. Confirm your basket and place your order.
  3. Make payment by EFT or card. If you pay by EFT use your order number as reference.
  4. Orders will be dispatched via courier.
  5. Courier deliveries have a turnaround time of 3-7 working days depending on whether you’re in an urban or regional area.  Engraving adds NO delay. 
Which Littmann stethoscope should I choose?

The Littmann Classic III comes at a higher price than the Littmann Lightweight II and with this comes better acoustics. The Littmann Classic III also comes with spare soft ear tips and a non-chill rim. The Littmann Classic III comes with a 5-year warranty and the Littmann Lightweight II comes with a 2-year warranty. The Littmann Lightweight II is 30g lighter than the Littmann Classic III. The Littmann Classic III has a two-sided chestpiece with a diaphragm on one side and a bell on the other. The larger diaphragm side is normally used for adult patients. The smaller-diameter bell is best for paediatric patients. The Littmann Lightweight II has a one-sided chestpiece.

The Littmann Cardiology IV is the most premium (non-digital) Littmann stethoscope and is best for those with a larger budget or working health professionals. The Littmann Core Digital, is niche electronic stethoscope that provides the best possible acoustic quality.

Do you offer stethoscope engraving?

Yes we do! Stethoscope engraving is offered for R250. Please ensure that the phrase you would like engraved does not contain any errors as engraving is permanent. Engraving is stricly alphanumeric.

Unlike others, we offer premium laser engraving – not physical mechanical engraving. Our laser engraving looks premium and is much neater – perfect to show off your stethoscope on your Instagram posts!

We can also engrave custom symbols and images on request.

Do stethoscopes come with a warranty?

The Littmann Cardiology IV comes with a 7-year warranty.
The Littmann Classic III comes with a 5-year warranty.
The Littmann Lightweight II comes with a 2-year warranty.
Please note that the warranty covers material or manufacturing defects but not accidental damages. 
For all warranty claims, contact us and our concierge will arrange the necessary arrangements to fulfil your warranty.

How are your prices so competitive?

Through special agreements with various suppliers in both South Africa and abroad, we are able to acquire products at the best possible prices. As authorised distributors of the brands we stock, we guarantee genuine and authentic products.

Does engraving add processing time?

Nope, not at all 🙂 We are proudly SA’s first stethoscope supplier to offer in-house laser engraving – convenience at it’s finest! No need to hunt a jeweller or engraver who’d be willing to engrave your stethoscope – no setup costs, no risk in terms of inexperienced engravers. We’ve engraved countless stethoscopes, so you can be certain that we know what we’re doing 🙂

What does 'back-order' mean?

Some of our stock moves very fast. If a product is on backorder it means that we don’t have it in stock currently but more is on the way from our suppliers and we should receive it shortly. As soon as we do, we will send off your order.

What forms of payment do you accept?

WiZmed accepts payments via EFT and Credit/Debit Cards.

Why do you not accept cash deposits?

Merchants are charged fees when cash deposits are processed. In order to ensure you get the best price for the products you want, we don’t accept cahs depostis, so the charge isn’t indirectly passed on to you. Should you make a cash deposit, we will not process your order until you arrange for payment of the deposit fee.

What is the EFT Discount?

Since we aren’t charged any fees when accepting EFT payments we don’t see the need to include these fees into our pricing! We give students the opportunity to save even more by giving a 3% discount when you checkout using the EFT option (this 3% discount is already included into the pricing of our products).

In other words – we’re giving you an opportunity to save more of your hard-earned cash by EFTing us. On most orders, this is a saving of around R100. 

Is delivery free?

We offer free shipping to your door on orders over R2500. On orders under R2500, delivery to your door via courier will incur a charge of R99. We also have a priority shipping option for R175 which allows your order to be processed with Aramex’s overnight service.

Can I consolidate multiple orders?

Unfortunately this is not generally possible as our warehouses operate completely automatically and courier waybills/ engravings etc are auto-booked based on the order information. Unless you receive written confirmation that we will consolidate multiple orders, please kindly note that simply an order comment will not guarantee consolidation. 

What is the timeframe for Aramex priority?

The timeframe for Priority shipping with Aramex is 1-4 working days. Due to us being based in Cape Town, all cargo to KZN takes 48 hours at a minimum. Regional/rural zones may take 2-3 days more however priority will still save overall lead-time significantly as your order will skip the processing queue and be shipped with air transport instead of economy road freight.

What forms of delivery are available?

WiZmed offers the following delivery options:

  1. Nationwide Courier Delivery – R99
  2. Priority Shipping via Aramex – R175
  3. Free delivery for orders over R2500
Can I ship to freight forwarders?

No, it is against our policy to ship to known freight forwarders – firstly due to our corporate agreements with manufacturers, and secondly due to many issues lying in numerous recipient name mismatches and unsuccessful deliveries. Contact us if you need further clarity or are in need of an order in any region in Europe, Middle East or Africa.

Help! My delivery was unsuccessful or returned to your warehouse.

Please urgently contact the courier using your tracking number, or alternatively reach out to us. Kindly be aware that if you supplied us an incorrect address and the products are returned to our warehouse, WiZmed will not be liable for any reshipping fees billed by the courier service. Therefore, please always check that your address is correct else there will be unnecessary otherwise-avoidable delays. 

Do you deliver to mines/farms/hotels or internationally?

For areas that may incur any surcharges, we will contact you to invoice you for the necessary fees, alternatively we can change the delivery address to something that suits you.

Regarding international customers, please contact us we ship all over Africa using an affordable courier that starts at only ZAR349. 

How long does nationwide courier delivery take?

Our average turnaround time for courier deliveries is 3-7 working days. Regional/rural areas may take longer. If an item is listed as on backorder, then it can take around 3 weeks – just pop us a message to get some clarity on it. 

What is your refund policy?

Products purchased from WiZmed may be returned for the following reasons:

  • The product is defective upon receipt
  • The wrong product arrives (this must be reported within 3 days of receiving the order)

Any items returned for the aforementioned criteria should be returned within 14 days of receipt and should also meet the following criteria:

  • Good must be returned as sold (i.e. in the original packaging)

In the case of the wrong product being shipped, WiZmed will first try to obtain the desired product failing which a refund will be offered.

In the case of product defects, WiZmed will first try to repair any defects or find a suitable replacement before processing any refunds.

Should a product be returned and it be found upon investigation that the product does not fall under the warranty and/or there have been accidental/customer-incurred damages, the customer shall be liable for both shipping and repair costs.

Can I return my product if I’ve changed my mind?

WiZmed strictly does not accept returns of non-defective products.

Can I return my engraved stethoscope?

WiZmed strictly does not accept returns of engraved stethoscopes, or any stethoscopes for that matter due to the risk of earpieces transmitting infections. Just as you would not like to receive your stethoscope with someone else’s earwax and oils in the earpieces, we don’t want anyone else having to experience that. 

There is an error with engraving

In the incredibly unlikely event that the engraving does not match what you have on the invoice, we will gladly collect and sort out the matter expediently. In the case where you have supplied us with an incorrect name – there is nothing that can be done, which is why we ask you to please carefully check that you type out the correct name for engraving. 

What if I’ve ordered the wrong size lab coat?

Unfortunately, due to the fact that all our garments are made to order, we are unable to process refunds due to the incorrect size being selected. Please view our size guide on our scrubs and lab coats page to ensure that you choose the correct size. Should what you receive be different to what you’ve ordered, please refer to our returns policy.

My tourniquet isn't the colour I wanted.

Our tourniquets are sold as assorted colours and by no means are any order comments requesting colours be considered binding. Whilst we may try to send a colour that matches your request, this CANNOT be guaranteed and we will not entertain any returns or refunds on this as we clearly state that the colours are assorted.
